The Story

'As the River Goes’ follows the small town of Porterville as they battle government to receive the resource they need, water.  The film documents the affects of the worst drought in California history and shares the difficulties small towns face in receiving aid during major disasters.  ‘As the River Goes’ is directed by Porterville native Katherine Espejo and produced by former Central Valley resident Ariel Blandford.  The film brings to life the reality of living without water and sheds light on the importance of drought preparedness.
